Theory Four:  The Attraction of Poltergeists

This theory is something that Dan Norvell and I have talked about recently and thought that we would share it with our fans for their take. Please keep in mind, this a theory based on scientific facts based on the paranormal, and although we are open to the opinions of others we kindly ask to keep everything constructive.

Theory 4: The Attraction of Poltergeists

This theory was first thought of by Dan Norvell, founder of Small Town Paranormal Illinois, after experiencing a similar situation on a case. When he first brought it to my attention, he was sure of the theory... he just needed a way to make it work and way to explain it scientifically, basically what all the rest of our theories were like.

First off, the definition of a Poltergeist for those who don't know:

Poltergeist - is a troublesome spirit or ghost which is believed to throw objects about, make noises, etc.

"Poltergeist" from German poltern, meaning "to rumble", "to make a noise" and Geist, meaning "ghost" or "spirit".

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:
Essentially, a noisy ghost... has nothing to do with evil spirits, possessed victims, or demonic energies. Although it is often believed that all
poltergeists are created by teenage girls that is not always the case (based on the definition, any noisy spirit could be a poltergeist) but in this
instance will be the main focus of our theory. The following clips are taken from the TAPS website, an article written by Jason Hawes about
Poltergeists:

"Most of the time, in the case of a poltergeist, the haunting circles around a female in her teen years. Some of these cases seem to be caused by the female unknowingly controlling the energy around her. Some cases happen around people that are stable and in the right mind
space."

"This haunting is hard to classify due to certain situations. No two are ever really the same. Most of the time you will find that one person in the household seems to be more affected by the haunting than anyone else. It may seem that most of the activity doesn't happen unless that certain person is present. Usually, the activity appears to stop when that person leaves the home. The majority of the time poltergeists are experienced by several people, but again they seem to center around one certain person. This person may be highly stressed as of late or maybe this person has gone through some type of extreme emotional situation."

The first part of our theory is the most well-known, childhood/teenage puberty is the cause of most Poltergeist activity and is more often than not caused by a young female in emotional or psychological "crisis". In many cases, this young girl doesn’t even realize that they are causing the disturbance. The poltergeist uses this person to transmit and transform their paranormal energy to move objects and oftentimes cause damage or harm to people and items around them. It is not a possession of a human, but merely the human being used like a transmitter for the psychic energy.

The Southern Pole of the magnet is the young female starting up the "baby making factory". As she projects her emotions outward (as most teenage females do), the poltergeist pushes its own energy toward her. The two energies repel each other often causing objects to move or harm to others. The stronger the stress she feels, the more this spirit will want to feed off of her emotions, the move likely the poltergeist activity will increase. As stated above, the spirit is using the young female as a transmitter to project its energy outwards.

It has been brought up by Italian researcher Pierro Brovetto and his colleague Vera Maxia that this action of opposing energies can result
in teenage telekinesis (a possible excuse for object movement). Brovetto and Maxia believe that the extra fluctuations triggered by the pubescent brain would substantially enhance the presence of the virtual particles surrounding the person. This could slowly increase the pressure of air around them, moving objects and even sending them hurtling across the room.

The second half of our theory involved the polar opposite of teenage puberty, adult menopause. It is our theory that these two changes
share the same chemical signature, one opens the baby factory, the other closes it. That said, it is our opinion that menopause can cause similar chemical characteristics to teenage puberty, thus allowing for women from the age of 35 and older to experience their own poltergeist activity.  Since it is well know that teenage angst causes activity, it is not often considered that menopause could be the reason a 40 year old woman is the only one being tormented by a certain spirit.

The emotional crisis felt be a woman entering her menopausal stages is the exact opposite of the puberty stage. As the young teen projects her emotions outward, the adult female can often times bottle up her emotions and keep them inward. If this would be the case, compared to the caption above the poltergeist spirit wouldn't have any resistance from the victim and would have an easier time drawing energy from her. Instead of using the resistance to transmit its energies, it can feed off of the adult woman and influence the objects itself.

Now, if the poltergeist spirit were to have easier access drawing the negative energies felt by the victim (failed marriage, never had children, never been married, etc. etc. etc. and now they're ending their cycle) if would give them more energy at their disposal to manifest and move objects. Just like the magnets, as the two Southern Polar ends butt heads with each other... others close to the teenage girl may experience poltergeist activity when the teen is present. When the Northern and Southern polar ends interact within the menopausal stage, there is an instant connection and those around the adult female may not experience the activity as much or at all.

One possible reason that this only happens to females is the simplicity of the male hormone system and the gradual slowdown of testosterone production (which with menopause, instead of taking many years like testosterone, the slowdown of estrogen may only take a year or two). It could also be said that the way males handle stress could have a direct result in their production of poltergeist
manifestations.

Seeing how neither Dan nor Larry are female and have not experienced female puberty or menopause, we kindly ask for any of our female fans or colleagues to share their input on this theory so that we may adjust it as fit. This theory is in no way to project that men are better than women, men have easier lives than women do, or that women going through puberty or menopause will ALWAYS encounter poltergeist activity. Thoughts? Comments? Concerns?
